For information on features and amenities at each chain, please refer to our
Extended Stay Chain Comparison Survey. To allow for a
meaningful price comparison, we recorded the best available daily rates (based on a weekly stay) for studio suites at all hotels for the same time
period - a stay from December 17 to December 24 2006. The studios in our rate survey all are one-room suites with fully-equipped kitchens, including (at a
minimum) a refrigerator, sink, microwave and stovetop. For extended stays in larger units, see our
One-Bedroom Suite Survey and
Two-Bedroom Suite Survey.
For past rates, see our December
2005 Rate Survey, our June
2005 Rate Survey or our December
2004 Rate Survey. Comparing the current rate survey with the survey conducted one year ago, we found significant increases across the board, ranging
from 7.4% at Homewood Suites to 22.8% at Crossland:

Note: Calculations are limited to properties that were included in both surveys.
In all, we checked rates for 1,700 properties in 286 US market
areas. (For rates in Canada, please see the Canadian Extended Stay Rate Survey.) In many
areas, there was more than
one hotel of a particular brand. When these hotels charged different rates, we provide a price range. When there is no vacancy for the particular
suite type, this is indicated by "nv". Clicking on the state and city links below will access a list of all extended stay options at the location,
including those that make up our survey. Detailed information and online
reservations are available. Note that many chains offer lower rates for month stays (30 days or longer).
