Extended Stay Rate Survey - December 2004

In October 2004, Biz-stay.com researchers conducted an extensive survey comparing the lowest available weekly discount rates at 8 leading extended stay hotel chains. The chains ranged from budget (Crossland) to upscale (Residence Inn). To allow for a meaningful comparison, we recorded the best available daily rates (based on a weekly stay) for studio suites at all hotels for the same time period - a stay from December 8 to December 15 2004. In all, we found rates for 1,324 properties in 250 market areas. In many areas, there is more than one hotel of a particular brand. When these hotels charge different rates, we provide a price range. For extended stay chain abbreviations used in the matrix below, please refer to the following key:
	CL = Crossland (average rate: $28.76)
	ESA = Extended StayAmerica (average rate: $46.50)
	SP = StudioPLUS (average rate: $46.04)
	HS = Homestead Studio Suites (average rate: $50.28)
	CW = Candlewood Suites (average rate: $68.30)
	TP = TownePlace Suites by Marriott (average rate: $80.04)
	SB = Staybridge Suites (average rate: $102.42)
	RI = Residence Inn by Marriott (average rate: $115.08)
