For information on features and amenities at each chain, please refer to our
Extended Stay Chain Comparison Survey. To allow for a
meaningful price comparison, we recorded the best available daily rates (based on a weekly stay) for studio suites at all hotels for the same time
period - a stay from June 12 to June 19 2005. The studios in our rate survey all are one-room suites with fully-equipped kitchens, including (at a
minimum) a refrigerator, sink, microwave and stovetop. For extended stays in larger rooms, see our
One-Bedroom Suite Rate Survey.
For past rates, see our December
2004 Rate Survey. Comparing the current rate survey with the survey conducted last year, we found significant variation across brands, with an
increase of 10.2% at both Marriott extended stay chains, and a decrease of 2.7% at Studio PLUS:

Note: Calculations are limited to properties that were included in both surveys.
In all, we found rates for 1,543 properties in 260 US market
areas. In many areas, there is more than
one hotel of a particular brand. When these hotels charge different rates, we provide a price range. Clicking on the state and city links
below will access a list of all extended stay options at the location, including those that make up our survey. Detailed information and online
reservations are available. Note that many chains offer even lower rates for month stays (30 days or longer).
