Those planning to visit Seattle this summer will find themselves awash with various activites as the Seafair summer festival will be in full swing throughout July and into August.
Each summer Seattle hosts the largest festival in the Pacific Northwest, which sees a wide variety of events ranging from art exhibitions to cultural pride parades throughout the city.
Some of the more interesting events of Seafair are the various exhibitions and the Kirkland Classic Car Show on July 18 is one of the best. The show takes place all day in downtown Kirkland and features more than 500 classic cars, hot rods and custom vehicles. This event will be fun for older folks to reminisce about days gone by and give youths a chance to see the types of cars their parents drove when they were young.
All of the events of Seafair are exciting, but none can top the Boeing Air Show featuring the famed U.S. Navy Blue Angels. The air show, which takes place from August 6 to August 8, is the culmination of the festival and lets spectators see some of the fastest planes in the world. Six of the Navy's top pilots will each take command of a Boeing F/A-18 Hornet and show all attendees of the show exactly what modern aircrafts are capable of. This is sure to be an unforgettable event.
While those who are in Seattle on a business trip may be able to squeak in a bit of Seafair, they are in the city to get work done and fortunately for them, it is an excellent place to conduct business. The city is home to the Washington State Convention Center, which is the largest such facility in the Pacific Northwest. Besides spacious accommodations, the Center boasts a prime downtown location that is easy to get to and also offers convenient on-site parking.
For all of these reasons and many more, visitors to the city may want to stay around for a while, and fortunately there are plenty of Seattle extended stay options.

Another superb facility in Seattle is the Homewood Suites by Hilton - Seattle Convention Center/Pike Street, which offers guests a location right in the heart of the city, making it convenient for both business and leisure travelers alike. In addition to its central location, this extended stay hotel offers rooms with a separate living area with a full-sized sleeper sofa and a fully-equipped kitchen. With so many wonderful features, the Homewood Suites is a relative bargain at $189 per night for a weeklong stay this summer.
Shanna Bean, director of sales for this extended stay hotel, believes that price is one of the key factors for people who choose to stay at a Homewood Suites.
"The value is key for all travelers, whether traveling on leisure or business," she said.
In addition to the wonderful Seafair, Bean recommends that those visiting Seattle soon should go see Cirque du Soleil's Kooza at Marymoor Park.
From fighter jets to convention centers there are so many reasons to take a nice, long vacation or business trip to Seattle this summer.
