Gradual improvements to the economy have helped Texas businesses strengthen their bottom lines, with that boost reflected in the upcoming opening of a new extended stay hotel in Fort Worth.
"Our survey results suggest that many Texas businesses are seeing modest improvements in economic conditions and slightly stronger business performance," Dave Monaghan, the Fort Worth market president for Capital One, told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
This trend was stronger among larger businesses, said the source. In a Capital One survey, 59 percent of managers at large businesses said that their economic situation was improving, compared to just 45 percent of small business owners. Similarly, 62 percent of large businesses said that their financial condition had improved over the past 12 months, while 47 percent of small businesses reported the same thing.
These improving economic conditions are expected to help draw guests to the new Candlewood Suites West Fort Worth, which will begin taking reservations next month. In particular, the hotel is expected to serve people working for big local companies like Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Northrop Grumman, Caterpillar, Weatherford and more.
