From Museums to Cutting Edge Business, Minneapolis Has It All

3 Sep 2010

Visitors to Minneapolis are never at a loss when it comes to finding exciting and wholesome fun as the region offers a wide variety of activities that are sure to please travelers of all stripes.

The Science Museum of Minnesota houses a range of thrilling and educational exhibits but none are more important than the Dead Sea Scrolls. Discovered in 1947 along the northwestern coast of the Dead Sea, the scrolls are among the earliest examples of biblical writings. These documents, written on papyrus and animal skins, have been essential to our collective understanding of the development of monotheistic religion throughout the world and written language in general.

These crucial documents can be seen at the Science Museum's The Dead Sea Scrolls: Words That Changed the World exhibition, which was put together by the Israel Antiquities Authority from the collections of the National Treasures with help from the museum. Travelers to the Twin Cities will want to be sure to go and see this amazing piece of world history.

While it is nice to go out and do something to better one's self while on vacation, sometimes it's preferable to just go out and do something fun. Fortunately travelers to Minneapolis can take a short trip to the Mall of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. The mall is one of the largest in the United States, offering more than 520 retail shops, live musical acts, indoor theme parks and countless other activities. Shoppers could literally spend days in the 78-acre mall, which could house 32 Boeing 747s.

Minneapolis is not only a tremendous place to have fun, it is also a great spot to get business done. The Minneapolis-St. Paul International airport handles more than 30 million passengers each year and is a Delta hub, giving travelers easy access to the Twin Cities. The area is also home to some of the largest and most important businesses in America such as Target, 3M and General Mills. Minneapolis and St. Paul both offer a welcoming business atmosphere, providing business travelers with the facilities and services that will help them get work done.

With exciting tourist attractions and a top-notch business environment, both leisure and business travelers may want to consider booking lodging at an extended stay facility in Minneapolis.

One excellent property in Minneapolis is Apex Corporate Housing, which offers comfortable and affordable short-term housing.

According to Chad Hauge of Apex Corporate Housing about 80 percent of guests are business travelers and they stay at the property for about two to three months.

People stay at Apex Corporate Housing because it provides first-class customer service and competitive pricing, in addition to offering guests upscale facilities and fitness centers, according to Hauge.

Hauge cites the flexible lease terms and stylish furniture as some of his favorite things regarding Apex Corporate Housing's lodgings.

Rates at Apex Corporate Housing start as low as $1,850 a month, which works out to under $62 a night.

Another fine place to stay in Minneapolis is the Residence Inn by Marriott - Minneapolis Downtown. This property offers guests rooms that are 50 percent larger than a typical hotel room and they all come with fully-equipped kitchens, giving guests the opportunity to prepare their own meals, which is an excellent way to save money while traveling for an extended period of time. (There is also a free breakfast buffet.) In addition, the Residence Inn offers complimentary high-speed internet to all of its guests, which is great for business travelers, as is the property's central and convenient location. This property has more than just quality amenities, however. Rates for a weeklong stay in October start at just $179 per night, while a month-long stay will only cost $119 per night.

Minneapolis has the tourist attractions and business facilities to make it a superb destination choice for all types of travelers.ADNFCR-3068-ID-19935702-ADNFCR
