Extended Stay Hotels, the national operator of long-term stay facilities, has announced that it is deploying upgraded internet services at its hotels around the US, according to a press release.
The company, which operates 685 properties in 45 U.S. states and two provinces in Canada, has installed fixed-wireless data connections made by Airband Communications at many of its locations. Hotels using the Airband internet services are able to get more than six times as much bandwidth as properties that get their internet from a wired T1 connection.
Every Extended Stay Hotels facility that has been equipped with the new internet system will typically receive either 9 megabits per second or 15 megabits per second of bandwidth, compared to just 1.5 megbits per second for a standard T1 line.
Additionally, Airband Communications will be able to temporarily increase the bandwidth to a given Extended Stay Hotels property to up to 1 gigabit per second, which can help these hotels provide fast internet service even during periods of high data usage like large meetings, conventions or other events.
