For information on features and amenities at each chain, please refer to our
Extended Stay Chain Comparison Survey. To permit a
meaningful price comparison, we recorded the best available daily rates (based on a weekly stay) for two-bedroom suites at all hotels for the same time
period - a stay from December 17 to December 24 2007. The suites in our rate survey all are
2-bedroom suites with separate bedrooms and living/dining rooms with fully-equipped kitchens, including a full-size refrigerator, sink,
dishwasher, microwave and stovetop. Kitchens are usually equipped with ovens also.
For past rates, see our December 2005 2-BR Rate Survey
For smaller suites, please see our One-Bedroom Rate
Survey. Comparing the 2-bedroom suite rates with the 1-bedroom rates (at the same hotel), we found significant variation between moderate and luxury brands,
with an average difference of only $16.37 at TownePlace Suites, and a $68.36 price difference at Homewood Suites. However, unlike TownePlace Suites, suites at the
upscale chains include 2 bathrooms, so a single 2-bedroom suite nearly matches the amenities of two separate 1-bedroom suites, and usually at a much lower cost.

Note: Calculations are limited to properties with availability in both surveys.
In all, we checked rates for 863 properties in 357 US market
areas. In some areas, there is more than one hotel of a particular brand. When these hotels charge different rates, we provide a price
range. When there is no vacancy for the particular suite type, this is indicated by "nv". Clicking on the state and city links
below will access a list of all extended stay options at the location, including those that make up our survey. Detailed information and online
reservations are available.
