Branson
|
Falls Village Resort in Branson can be found on Biz-stay.com's
Branson Suite Hotel page. It was reviewed in July 2007.
Our one-bedroom condo with one king bed in the bedroom and a queen sofabed in the living room was booked online at a nightly rate of $124
(weekend). This vacation rental exceeded expectations for mid-priced condo resort.
- Decor: Very nicely decorated. Walls were painted instead of typical wallpaper. The bedding and sofa and chairs were typical of
midscale hotels, but the rest of the furniture (table, chairs, dresser, end tables, etc.) was of high quality.
Rating of 4 (on scale of 1 to 5).
- Lighting: Adequate in most places. Rating of 3.
- Comfort: Suite was very spacious (900 sqaure feet), plus a small balcony. Lots of room to move around. Kitchen had plenty of room for
cooking. Lots of cupboards and counterspace. Bathroom was very large, with 2 vanities. Bedroom had a 2-person Jacuzzi tub. The condo had 2 TVs
(52-inch TV in living room). The condo had a very homey touch to it. It was large enough for an extended stay without feeling cramped for space. Rating of 5.
- Upkeep: This was a very clean resort. Buildings were well kept and looked fairly new. Not much landscaping, but it was well maintained. Rating of 5.
- Service: The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were many times we were walking around the clubhouse and staff would just come
over and start a conversation and see how we were doing. They were also very knowledgable about tBranson and were very helpful with finding places to go.
Rating of 4.
- Breakfast: None
- Other: This resort had many amenities. There were 2 pools, indoor and outdoor. 2 hot tubs, indoor and outdoor. BBQ grills. Nice playground
next to a basketball court so parents can watch kids while playing. There was a miniature golf course set up around the outdoor pool. Inside
the clubhouse was a (very small) exercise room, sauna, showers, game room and computer with internet access, pool table, TV and games. It was a very
family-friendly place, but not too crowded or noisy for couples.

Candlewood Suites - Joplin is affiliated with InterContinental, and can be found on Biz-stay.com's
Joplin Suite Hotel page. It was reviewed in July 2006.
Our studio apartment suite with one queen bed was booked online at a nightly rate of $76.50 (mid-week). This was a non-refundable advance
purchase rate, guaranteed to be the lowest available. However, Candlewood Suites is an extended
stay hotel chain, so travelers get much lower rates for longer stays. This hotel exceeded expectations for mid-priced extended stay chain.
- Decor: Simple cream colored walls with 2 prints above the bed.
Rating of 4 (on scale of 1 to 5).
- Lighting: Great - both ceiling lights and lamps and a large window giving plenty of light during the day. Excellent lighting in the
bathroom. Rating of 5.
- Comfort: The bed was firm. The chairs at the desk were very comfortable and the kitchen appliances were easy to use. Rating of 5.
- Upkeep: Very clean. Hotel was opened a few months before our visit, so everything was brand new. Rating of 5.
- Service: Excellent service. The front desk clerk was helpful and friendly. We forgot the receipt at check-out; we called them and
they faxed it to us. Rating of 5.
- Breakfast: None
- Other: Kitchen had a full-size refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher. There was a 32" flat-screen TV with DVD/VCR combo.

The Hyatt Regency - St Louis (now
Marriott - St. Louis/Union Station) is a AAA 4-Diamond hotel in central Saint Louis, and can be found
on Biz-stay.com's St Louis Suite Hotel page. It was
reviewed in December 2006. Our room with one king bed was booked online at a nightly discount rate of $79 (weekend). This hotel met expectations
for an upscale full-service hotel.
- Decor: Very nice, elegant decor. Beautiful bedding. Furniture was dark wood. The room all
coordinated well. The carpet and wallpaper were typical for hotels.
Rating of 4 (on scale of 1 to 5).
- Lighting: Room was quite dim, even with all the lights on. The bedside table lamps didn't provide enough light for reading. The desk table
had a bright light and the bathroom was well lit. Rating of 3.
- Comfort: The furniture was very comfortable. There was a nice sitting chair that was quite comfortable and there were two chairs at the
desk that were also very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable, with plenty of down pillows and a down comforter. The room was large (357 sq ft). Rating of 5.
- Upkeep: This was a very clean, elegant hotel. The halls and lobby area were well-kept and tidy. The entrance hall and restaurant area were
gorgeous. (See hotel's weblink for photos.)
Rating of 5.
- Service: Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is also an express check in and check out. Rating of 4.
- Other: There was an excellent fitness room at this hotel. There is also an outdoor pool. This hotel is part of
Union Station shopping/entertainment center. From the room, there are great views of Union
Station and some of the shops. The whole hotel and Union Station were very pleasant.
