Topeka
|
Residence Inn by Marriott - Topeka was found on Biz-stay.com's
Topeka Suite Hotel page. It was reviewed in June 2006.
Our two-bedroom/two-bath suite with full kitchen and fireplace
was booked online at a nightly rate of $169.99 (mid-week). This hotel met expectations for an upscale extended-stay hotel chain.
- Decor: Typcial hotel decor. But bedding was very light in color, which was very nice and diminished the hotel feeling. Rating of 4 (on scale of 1 to 5).
- Lighting: Very bright and abundant lights. Lamps were more than adequate for reading and writing. Rating of 5.
- Comfort: We enjoyed Marriott's new upgraded bedding. The beds were excellent, with lots of pillows. Rating of 5.
- Upkeep: Grounds were very nice, with great landscaping. Rooms were clean, with no sign of wear. Rating of 5.
- Service: Very nice and friendly staff. They informed us of all the amenities and things to do. Rating of 5.
- Breakfast: Nice area with good selection of food - fruits, breads, waffles, eggs, etc. Staff was constantly cleaning and restocking food
items. Rating of 4.
- Other: Nice indoor pool. Exercise room was small. Snacks and candy were available for purchase at the front desk - along with other
"fast food" items (frozen pizza, ice cream, etc.).

Our two-room suite with two queen beds

- Lighting: The room was well lit everywhere. Rating of 5.
- Comfort: The beds and pillows were very comfortable and well kept. Rating of 5.
- Upkeep: The desk and countertop were somewhat dusty, and streaked from attempts to dust the surface. The bathroom had a
small mess on the floor that was easily cleaned up with a wash cloth. Rating of 3.
- Service: Very unfriendly at front desk. The man here acted as if his relaxation time was being interrupted. Rating of 1.
- Breakfast: The breakfast was about average. Rating of 3.
- Other: Suite had a large wall providing partial separation between sleeping and living areas. The kitchenette included a
wet bar, microwave and mini refrigerator.

Candlewood Suites in
Salina Kansas was reviewed in August 2004. Our studio suite with 2
queen beds was booked through
Biz-stay.com's Salina page, at a nightly rate of
$62.30 (midweek). This was an advance payment discount - guaranteed to be the lowest rate available. Candlewood Suites is an extended stay hotel,
so travelers get the best value for longer stays. For example, the rate for a stay of 30 days was only $49/night. This particular Candlewood
Suites exceeded expectations for a mid-priced chain.

little counter space. Kitchen was well-equipped. Room had VCR and 25" TV. Selection of 200 movies available for free use. Free self-serve
laundry. 24-hour convenience "store".
